Qualifications:

I was born and raised in Victoria and my qualifications are quite extensive. I have been wrenching since I was 12 years old, building and racing my own go-karts with the Capital City Go Kart Club of Victoria, in the early 1970's.

  • I graduated from SJ Willis Junior High School, taking courses in auto mechanics, wood working, metal work and drafting, grades 8-10 (1971-1974);

  • I graduated in 1976 from Victoria High School, taking courses in auto mechanics, metal work and boat building;

  • I completed a six month, pre-apprentice automotive training program, Camosun College, 1978;

  • My work experience since 1978, includes working as a technician for general repair shops, and dealerships;

  • I worked for automotive dealerships such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Fiat, Lancia, Peugeot, in Calgary, Alberta (1978-1981);

  • I received certification as a Government Certified Mechanic in1985;

  • I operated my own import auto repair service for eight years, in Victoria and Sidney, specializing in Italian, Japanese and other makes of vehicles (1981-1989);

  • I worked for GM, Nissan, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Acura, Subaru, BMW, Volkswagen dealerships and repair shops in Victoria, as fill-in technician (1989-1993);

  • I presently operate Home Car Care Mobile Automotive Service, since 1993;

  • I am a big car racing fan and I have met many interesting people and visited many interesting places involved in racing. I have been involved with amateur sports car racing (including ice racing in Calgary, with the Calgary Sports Car Club), and have been a member of the Victoria Motor Sports Car Club since the early 1980's.
